Musiques et Sons en Méditerranée à Essaouira

Symposium Musique Dar Souiri Du 18 au 23 juin 2018, l'Association Essaouira-Mogador accueille le 12e Symposium sur les Musiques et Sons en Méditerranée. Pour l'occasion, des chercheurs et académiciens venus du monde entier se réuniront à Dar Souiri.

 

 

 

 

 


Culture : Essaouira accueille un Symposium mondial sur les musiques de la Méditerranée

Y a-t-il encore besoin de préciser l'importance qu'Essaouira accorde à la musique ? Entre ses festivals, ses concerts, et les airs qui flottent dans chaque ruelle de la médina, Essaouira est sans aucun doute une ville mélodieuse.

Cette année, la musicalité d'Essaouira résonnera plus que jamais, puisque près d'une centaine de chercheurs et d'académiciens, venus des Etats-Unis, d'Europe et des pourtours de la Méditerranée, se réunissent du 18 au 23 juin 2018 pour le 12e symposium mondial du groupe de Recherche et d'Etudes sur les Musiques de la Méditerranée.

Organisé pour la première fois en Afrique du Nord, ce colloque a pour but de créer un espace de dialogue et d'échange autour de la thématique « Musique et Son aux Intersections Méditerranéennes ». Un thème qui s'intéresse autant au concept de culture qu'à celui de l'identité méditerranéenne. 

Les spécialistes sont ainsi invités à étudier le rôle de la musique dans la Méditerranée d'aujourd'hui et d'hier, tout en examinant la circulation de celle-ci dans cet espace « aquacentrique », qui créé autant de relations entre l'Europe, l'Afrique, le Moyen-Orient et l'Océan Atlantique.

Un congrès international qui a pu exister grâce au partenariat entre l'Association Essaouira-Mogador, le Conseil des Musiques Traditionnelles – dont le siège se situe à Londres – et avec le soutien scientifique de l'Université Columbia de New-York

C'est Dar Souiri qui recevra les experts venus des 4 coins de monde pour une rencontre de haut niveau à l'ambition autant scientifique que culturelle.

Si les organisateurs ont choisi Essaouira pour y installer ce 12e rendez-vous, c'est grâce au multiculturalisme de la ville qui a toujours su métisser les traditions, les langues et les religions et qui continue encore aujourd'hui à être au croisement de l'Afrique, le Moyen-Orient, l'Atlantique et la Méditerranée.
